I REMEMBER THAT DAY SO VIVIDLY. THAT WAS WAY BEFORE I MOVED TO CALIFORNIA. I WAS STILL LIVING IN THE NEW YORK CITY AREA. I HAD JUST MOVED FROM MANHATTAN TO NEW JERSEY JUST ACROSS THE HUDSON RIVER. I HAD THE VIEW OF THE MANHATTAN SKYLINE AND I COULD SEE THE WORLD TRADE CENTER FROM MY WINDOWS. I WAS HAVING BREAKFAST AND LISTENING TO THE NEWS ON THE RADIO WHEN THEY ANNOUNCED A PLANE CRASHED THROUGH THE WORLD TRADE CENTER. I THOUGHT IT WAS AN ACCIDENT BUT WHEN THEY ANNOUNCED ANOTHER PLANE CRASHED THE WORLD TRADE CENTER, I KNEW IT WASN'T AN ACCIDENT. I RAN TO THE WINDOW AND SAW THE TRADE CENTER COVERED WITH BLACK SMOKE. I'LL NEVER FORGET THAT DAY.
WOW! THAT WAS 19 YEARS AGO?? HOW TIME FLIES!
P.S. PEGLEG, THOSE ARE GREAT PHOTOS!

I had been gone from NYC for about 30 years when it happened. I watched them being constructed while I worked at the Woolworth Building ( Circled in pic).

Hi Brian. Good to see you. I left NYC in 1969, when the AF stationed me in Los Angeles. Saw the WTC going up before that. After a few other moves I was in the process of moving from LA to Virginia. My wife and I were in the process of moving from LA to VA (Yorktown area). We flew back from LA to Dulles on Sept 10. I planned to sleep in on Sep 11, before going back to work. My wife woke me on 11 Sep to tell me about the attack. I was not allowed to go to my work station on Langley AFB for about a week... but eventually we started to gather our resources.... I hope never to go through that again......
